Leader & Tippet

Modern fishing lines are almost entirely made from artificial substances, including nylon, polyvinylidene fluoride (fluorocarbon), polyethylene, Dacron and Dyneema. The most common type is monofilament, made of a single strand. Fishermen often use monofilament because of its buoyant characteristics and its ability to stretch under load. Recently, other alternatives to standard nylon monofilament lines have been introduced made of co-polymers or fluorocarbon, or a combination of the two materials. Fluorocarbon fishing line is made of the fluoropolymer PVDF and it is valued for its refractive index, which is similar to that of water, making it less visible to fish. Fluorocarbon is also a more dense material, and therefore, is not nearly as buoyant as monofilament.

RIO Fluoroflex Plus

RIO Fluoroflex Plus

Fluoroflex Plus is 100% fluorocarbon and the strongest, thinnest fluorocarbon on the market with incredible strength, for example: 5 lb for 5x material and is nearly invisible to fish. Fluoroflex Plus is incredibly supple and ties excellent knots even to nylon tippet.

Vision Nano Loops

Vision Nano Loops

Custom made, twin walled braided loops formed from our proven Vision Nano mono material. A huge benefit is that your fly line butts right up to the loop so as to minimise that dreaded hinge between the line and leader.

Vision Tippet Rings

Vision Tippet Rings

Vision tippet rings make leader design easier and faster. Tie the end of your leader onto one of these and then tie your tippet length to the ring. They are great for tying droppers to a leader or when you want to attach fluorocarbon to monofilament.
